Una Introducción
Cuida Tus Pensamientos · Roberto Ocampo
If these pages are in your hands, it is because something in you already suspects a simple truth: not everything you think did you choose.
We live surrounded by voices —borrowed ideas, noise that enters without permission and settles into the mind as if it were ours—. We believe we think freely; often we only repeat. And what we repeat shapes us: a thought we do not guard becomes a word, the word becomes an act, the act a habit; and one day the habit hands us back a face we do not remember choosing.
This book is born of a certainty I want to give you from the very first page: your thoughts belong to you, and you can guard them. You need not be wise, nor withdraw from the world; it is enough to become, for a moment, the owner of your attention. To guard a thought is a small and deep gesture, and it is entirely in your hands.
It all began with a single sentence, which I guarded in my mind for days until I could call it mine:
«Cuida tus pensamientos, porque definen tus actos.
Tus actos se convierten en hábitos, y tus hábitos revelan quién eres.»«Guard your thoughts, for they define your actions.
Your actions become habits, and your habits reveal who you are.»
I put it under suspicion and verified it against thirty-five sources in two languages before I signed it. I promise you no formulas or shortcuts: I offer you an honest path, with its seams showing, so that you may learn to choose what dwells in your mind.
If that calls to you, come in. The door is open —and on the other side is you, a little more your own.
Sinopsis breve
Guard Your Thoughts is Roberto Ocampo's philosophical inquiry that grew out of a single sentence —verified against 35 sources in two languages before he signed it— into a thesis contrary to the self-help industry: you are not who you promise to become tomorrow, you are what you think, do and repeat today. From a Kodak photo lab in Mexico to a plant closure in Huntsville, Alabama, and from there to a personal recovery, the book connects philosophy —Aristotle, Seneca, Sartre— with real infrastructure and data sovereignty. Seventeen chapters, written in the open, sources and seams in plain view.
